Charlie and Leslie’s sunrise elopement at Tunnels Beach in Kauai will always be one of my most memorable experiences. They found me on TikTok and immediately booked me for their intimate ceremony — my first time on the island, and what a trip it was! The morning of the elopement, we were unsure about the weather as it was raining just an hour before the ceremony. We literally prayed for clear skies, and to our amazement, the clouds parted just in time, letting the soft light of the sunrise fill the sky and ocean. The kids, were also in attendance, making the moment even more special. Leslie thoughtfully sourced the flowers from a local flower shop and even crafted her own stunning bouquet, adding a personal touch to the ceremony. After the ceremony, a few local dogs came over to say hi, which brought even more joy to our morning. We ended the session with acai bowls, reflecting on the beauty of the day. The whole trip was unforgettable, and I was truly honored to capture their love in such a magical place. It’s important to note that a permit is required for elopements on the beaches of Hawaii, and we made sure to respect the land by following local guidelines — a reminder for all couples to honor the beauty and culture of the islands.
